The Renovopad® was created to save time and effort removing calcium from ceramic and porcelain waterline tiles.
Minerals in water can create lines that are very difficult to remove. Using abrasive technology and 3D printing we developed a drill based tool for quick removal of light to medium calcium buildup.
.
The Renovopad is designed for light to medium calcium buildup. If the pool has had the waterline cleaned yearly the Renovopad should take care of any new build up. For pools that have not had the waterline cleaned in years, a 200 grit diamond hand pad is often used to knock down the heavy build up. Then the Renovopad can remove the rest of the calcium line.
Yes. The water acts as a medium to remove calcium particles from the Renovopad while it is spinning.
The Renovopad is designed to clean smooth surface porcelain and ceramic tile. It is not designed for soft materials like plastic. The Renovopad is abrasive and should be tested in an inconspicuous area prior to using on an entire surface.
Tighten the chuck firmly around the hex head of the Renovopad to make sure it stays in place while spinning.
Drain the pool to a level that allows safe use of the battery operated drill. Never use a corded drill.
Water is the medium that carries away calcium that is removed from the tile.
Water splash can be a continuous source of calcium scale and discoloration. The constant cycles of exposure to water and then drying allow minerals to quickly build up over tile.
This kind of calcium build up can be daunting. Using traditional calcium removers will damage the grout because of their acidity. A non chemical method is needed.
Using Renovopads, this fountain was brought back to its original appearance.
